A subdomain is the section of the web address which is before a domain name and you've most likely seen a lot of subdomains while exploring the Internet. For instance, many sites such as Wikipedia have versions in various languages using subdomains - en.wikipedia.org, de.wikipedia.org and so on. The best thing about employing a subdomain is that it can have a separate website and its own records, so you can even host it on a separate server. The practical use is that you could have a supplementary website, like an e-learning portal for pupils on top of the primary school site. If you are using subdomains as opposed to subfolders, it'll be much easier to perform maintenance or to upgrade a specific website, not mentioning that it's going to be more secure to have the websites separate from each other.

Subdomains in Hosting

Our hosting plans will enable you to create many subdomains for every domain address hosted in your account without any difficulty. If the main domain address is added, it will take 2 mouse clicks to create a subdomain and choose what folder it's going to open (if different from the default one), create unique error pages, activate FrontPage Extensions, set a shared IP address or a dedicated one, and a lot more. All subdomains are going to be conveniently listed in alphabetical order under their main domain for quick access and management. By right-clicking on any one of them and by using instant access buttons you can see the error logs, visitor statistics or site files for that particular subdomain. We haven't set a limit for the total number of subdomains that you can create with any one of our plans, so you can have as many as you need.
