Occasionally you may have to block certain third parties from accessing your Internet sites. There are a lot of automatic bots that crawl the Internet, for example, and generate fake visits and traffic. There's also spammers that leave links to questionable Internet sites as comments to site articles. This type of things can significantly undermine your projects, because nobody likes to visit a website with many fake comments, plus the increased site traffic from both spammers and bots may create high load on the server in which your site is hosted, which could result in your site not functioning properly. Among the most effective solutions in such cases is to block the IPs that create the fake traffic, in order to make certain that the visits to your site are authentic.

IP Blocking in Hosting

If you have a hosting account with us and you wish to block one or several IP addresses, you could use the IP Blocking tool, which is incorporated into our in-house built Hepsia Control Panel. Through a rather simple interface, you could stop any IP from accessing your content even if you have never had a web hosting account before. All it requires to do this is to log within to your CP, to go to the IP Blocking section, to pick a certain domain or subdomain from a drop-down menu and then to enter the IP address. You simply won't have to do anything challenging if you want to block a whole network - you'll just have to omit the last octet, so entering 1.1.1. with a blank space after the last dot will block the whole range from 1.1.1.1 to 1.1.1.255. All blocked IPs shall be listed within the same exact section, so you'll be able to remove any of them from the blacklist with only a mouse click.
